6th Annual St. Marys Haunted History Tour Returns October 24


Ghosts, witches, pirates, and other eerie characters will once again roam the streets of downtown St. Marys as the 16th Annual St. Marys Haunted History Tourtakes place on Friday, October 24, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.Presented by St. Marys Little Theatre, this beloved tradition blends local legends with real historical events to create an unforgettable evening of spooky entertainment.

“This year’s lineup features several new spirits along with a few fan favorites,” said Barbara Ryan Harris, founder of St. Marys Little Theatre. “We’ve brought back the always-popular Visiting Witches of Salem and the Civil War Soldier—whose story never fails to bring a tear to your eye. And our mischievous witches will have you cackling!”

In addition to these returning favorites, visitors can expect to meet a pirate searching for his friend’s missing head, encounter Dr. Christian at the cemetery, meet Scary MeMaw, hear Aaron Burr’s story about coming to St. Marys after killing Alexander Hamilton in a duel, and even cross paths with Beggar, the Riverview Hotel Dog—just a few of the eight costumed characters stationed throughout Downtown St. Marys. At Cottle & Gunn, roving guests can witness the photos taken by paranormal experts showing the hauntings of 711 Osborne Street. Other venues include Oak Grove Cemetery, the Waterfront Park, the Riverview Hotel, the Waterfront Pavillion, and Orange Hall.  

Tour-goers can begin their journey at any of the eight venues with golf cart rides available for those who find it difficult to walk. Golf cart information is available at Once Upon a Bookseller.
