St. Marys, GA – Pack your bags and get ready for a family road trip. That's the situation that Mama and her squabbling “grown-up” children find themselves in with “Deliver Us From Mama!” St. Marys Little Theatre's next production.
The Little Theatre has brought St. Marys a Southern Comedy each spring for the last several years, but this year's edition is a little different - instead of staying in one place, our Southern family trio road trips to five U.S. locations encountering the wackiest of characters along the way. This fast-paced comedy is laugh-a-minute, but the action really starts during set changes...that's when a hilarious team of “Shakers and Movers” show up to get the play's set in on the action.
Returning actor Travis Land, who portrays Mama's uptight son “Walker,” describes the production like this: “This is a fun show that almost feels like it's ten plays in one...there are new faces that bring new energy to an already energetic cast.” Tammy Bradley headlines this comedy as “Mama” and says “This cast is amazing. Experiencing the characters that our actors are developing in rehearsals is an absolute blast! Our audiences will love this quirky family. The one liners and funny sibling dynamics will have people talking about it long after the show is over.” New to the St. Marys Little Theatre stage, but no theater newcomer, is Jessica Kay Wright, who portrays successful business woman and put-upon daughter “Savannah” with sass and style, and more than a touch of exasperation with her much-loved Mama. To say more would give the show away. St. Marys' own mamas, and their children, will see themselves in every hilarious interaction.
Tickets for the show, which opens Friday, April 25 are on sale now at www.StMarysLittleTheatre.com and locally at Once Upon A Bookseller, 207 Osborne Street, Downtown St. Marys, Georgia. Tickets are $20 each. Show dates are Friday, April 25 at 7pm, Saturday, April 26 at 7pm, Sunday, April 27 at 2pm, Friday, May 2 at 7pm, Saturday, May 3 at 7pm and Sunday, May 4 at 2pm.
Local coffee purveyors The Espresso Base are returning to offer their fun show-inspired coffee, drinks and snacks before and during the show.
